I’ve been working on planting trees lately. Symbolic trees rather than the bark covered real ones. The idea comes from an African proverb; “The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the next best time is today.” Or something very similar to that vain of thinking.
Ive known that proverb for many, many years, maybe a decade, and I’ve always liked it but didn’t understand how to bring it into my own life. But not so long ago I realized it’s as simple as looking at what I want, or have wanted and never put the effort in to get. The trees I never planted.
So I’ve been planting trees lately, and it’s quite nice. What trees am I planting? That’s not important, the act of planting them is far more important to me than what those trees may bare in the future.
